Won't start when while engine is warm
Hi,
My 1978 924 (40,000 miles) will typically not start while the engine is warm. It starts great while cold. However, during a period of a few hours after running, the cockpit smells like gas and when I attempt to start it, it turns over and immediately turns off. Almost like it's been flooded, but I did not press on the pedal. Then it takes quite a bit of cranking to get it started. Does anyone know which part needs replacement? I think it might be either the fuel accumulator or the cold start valve? Not sure though. Your response is most highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Rodolfo |

Replace your fuel pump check valve and re-test.

The main 924/944 mailing list at www.rennlist.org recently covered diagnosing a 924 hot start problem. Have a look there!
