Interior cleaning and care?

Hi Porsche peeps, I was wondering what everyone uses to keep their dash and seats looking good. I've used quite a few, from Armor All, Meguires, Griots, 303, and etc. Anyway I'm trying to find something really good that not only looks great, but will also extend the life of my interior in my 88 924S. Thanks all...

Johnny, it may depend on preferences, but I don't like shinyness on the interior, so I aim to get things clean using a spray (I use SimpleGreen, very diluted) and water, using clean terry towels or microfiber to blot and dry surfaces. I don't like to dress vinyl. For future maintenance (once deep cleaned) I use a damp cloth and just spot clean as needed. For the old leather in my 82 SC, I used Obenauf's leather oil because the seat covers were a bit dry/stiff, and then wipe with a damp cloth/buff with terry cloth for regular maintenance. Years ago there was a big class action suit won against ArmorAll because it deemed to cause damage to vinyl...maybe because it was so oily that it ended-up frying surfaces in the sun? I hope this helps some. John/CT

I have black leather seats in my 944 and have successfully used saddle soap to clean and lanolin cream to condition (soften) them. Lanolin may darken lighter colored leather seats somewhat, so test it in an obscure spot first.

I have also used Zymol leather conditioner in the past.

I am currently using Mercedes-Benz spray leather cleaner and a M-B cream leather conditioner right now because I have them for my two daily drivers. They work very well also.

Buying and trying the available products can be half the fun, but another thing I remembered hearing from a respected upholstery man who did high-level work (since passed on, RIP):
Pledge in aerosol cans can be a useful product, even on vinyl, if you want to add some color depth and low luster sheen. Will remove greasy finger marks etc, too...has some solvent properties in addition to the shine/wax. John
