Weird idle rev and squealing
I recently rebuilt my steering rack and got a new ac compressor and started the car and heard some belt squealing. I took off the power steering belt and it squeals a little at about 1,000 rpm but stops after but squeaks more with the power steering belt. I also have this weird idle rev that dips up and down but not by much

Try this test: turn on all accessories and see if the belt squeals or slips at idle or when revved up:
All accessories include the AC, blower, rear defogger, lights, high beams, fog lights, etc. Since the alternator and the AC compressor use the same belt it might be a loose belt if there is squealing with a full load on the alternator. If there is a squealing belt it needs to be tightened. (procedure to be provided) |

To check the belt use a twist test. I think it should only twist about 1/4 turn on the long leg. You need to loosen the compressor mounting bolts before tightening the tensioner turnbuckle. The tension can slip if all of the brackets on the AC compressor are not re-tightened however use caution as the compressor ears have been know to break off if too much force is used or it gets cocked.
