diagnostic plugs?
What are these, diagnostic plugs?
one on right (jpass) side: and another on left (drivers side): Could they be useful to regular DIY mechanic without professional scan tools? |

the one on the passenger side is just the plug for the cruise control motor, that you don't have.
the one on the driver side is a diagnostic port, see here for a way to use it. https://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Parts/BLINKCODE.html |

I think you only get blink-codes if you have 951 as it's generated by KLR. Here's tutorial to build your own blink-code flasher. led blink code tester

So they don't have anything to diagnose the basic 944 with the 8V & 16V N/A models???

Nope, won’t give you any info on NA models. If you look at wiring-diagram, test-port signal is connected to KLR boost/ignition box on 951s only. Here's list of blink-codes and their meaning. It's ALL related to boost-control functions. https://members.rennlist.com/951_racerx/TestSocketBlinkCodes.html
Best diagnostic tools are multimeter, oscilloscope and vacuum gauge. Can diagnose and fix ALL problems with those. Last edited by DannoXYZ; 01-04-2020 at 07:14 AM.. |
