Replacing worn brake rotors

Need Help! 1990 944S2 Cab.

I am in need of replacing front brake rotors.

question 1. what size socket removes the huge bolt holding them?

question 2. if I buy new ones can I just bolt them on or do they need any resurficing, balancing etc.

Any advice is appreciated.

New rotors don't need balancing or surfacing. They only need to be cleaned with a solvent to get the oily stuff off that is used to prevent rusting. You should replace pads when you replace the rotors.

Regarding the large nut. This must be quite different from older 944 turbos. All one needs is an offset wrench to get hub/rotor off spindle of turbo. Then small wrenches to separate rotor from hub. Can't help you here. Sorry...
