Testing air flow meter, how?
My car is not running very well if I drive at constant speed with less then 3000 rpm. I fixed a vacuum leak so now idle is steady at 900 rpm so I do not think I have any more vacuum trouble.
I spoke to a mechanic at the local Porsche Center (Söderbergs in Norrköping, Sweden) and he told me to check the air flow meter. I have a digital multimeter but I do not know how to connect it to the air flow meter (four pins to chose from). And what kind of reading should I get then moving the flap inside the meter? /Magnus |

Hej po dej Magnus,
I spent some time in Sweden back in the early '80s. It's a beautify country. I just performed all the tests for the air flow unit yesterday on my early '85 944. It's really very simple. If you don't already have one, you need to get ahold of a Haynes 944 repair manual. The process is detailed quite well for the most part, but alittle weak in places (as usual). You you don't have one, e-mail me back and I'll be happy to walk you through the process. walker944@yahoo.com --Mike |
