Chip ID - pic included

I got this chip from a guy who said it was out of an ‘85 944na. I’m hoping someone may be able to help me gain a little more info on it?? I was hoping to instal into my ‘83 944. It has the 24 as it should. But he said it was a plug in? I believe any chip for an ‘83 should have to be soldered in.

Will I need to get an newer DME and AFM to use this chip, or can I solder this into mine and not have any issues?

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

A 24 pin chip, possible for 85/2 to 87 944, won't fit an 84 (chip is soldered in).
