Rebuilding150bhp 924S engine with 160 bhp parts

I have a 150 bhp 924S engine that I am planning to partially rebuild, big ends, valve stem seals, rear crank oil seal. I also have a 160 bhp engine for spares. Would I be able to swop the high compression pistons with conrods into the 150 bhp engine ( with new rings?)?.
Will the automatic timing belt adjuster from the later engine and the water pump( new on the 160bhp engine) be straight swops onto the 150 bhp engine? Obviously new belts will be fitted. Are the reference sensors the same?

1) You can swap the pistons directly IF they are the same tolerance grouping as the originals (0, 1 or 2). Keep in mind that you may want the DME computer or chip from the 160HP DME to match the change.

2) If both engines have the auto-tensioner then they can swap. If not, then no they cannot. There are differences in the block casting and timing belt covers between the auto-tensioner and non-auto engines.

Clean off the top of your pistons and you will find them.

I guess the obvious question is why don't you put the 160 hp motor in?

The 160bhp motor was damaged by the vendor when it was taken out of the car( the reference sensor area broke away from the block.)

Ooph, did they pull the motor out by the sensor bracket, or what?!

If it's just the bracket/mount, it could likely be welded up, unless they ventilated the block in the process...

I think they broke the casting trying to remove the reference sensors
