Pentosin Super DOT 4 or DOT 4 LV?
Everything hydraulic is 34 year old original and worn out, so I am replacing the booster, master and all four calipers and rotors (already did the clutch hydraulics last fall).
Pentosin recommends their standard viscosity Super DOT 4 brake fluid, but the label on the 000.043.203.66 Porsche brake fluid can notes "Class 6 Low Viscosity" which would be the equivalent to Pentosin DOT 4 LV. Aside from price, what are the advantages or disadvantages of using standard or low viscosity brake fluid?

if you keep your car outside in freezing temperatures, you might opt for the LV.
imho, the low viscosity fluid is for the bmw motorcycle peeps that cruise to the arctic circle on their GS. there is one that lives up the street from me. |

LV brake fluid allows traction and stability control systems to have faster response times. This is not a factor in our old cars. LV fluid won't help or hurt.
