924 engine swap
I have a 1982 924 5 speed with a bad clutch and very marginal engine. I can get a 1977 engine in good condition, but was out of an Automatic. First will the engine just bolt in and if it will, does the flywheel cover bolt directly up to the engine even though one was from an automatic and the other a 5 speed. Also are the flywheels the same from the auto to the 5 speed

they are identical.
the only problems you may have are with emissions equipment. the engines otherwise are identical. obin [This message has been edited by Obin Robinson (edited 10-19-2000).] |

You will also have to change flywheels. Other than that they should interchange without any problems.
