help with a heater

I have a 1988 944 Turbo S. The heater works fine...only I can not get the heat to blow on my feet. Is the vent control electric or cable control?

I'm pretty sure it is electronic and maybe vaucmn in some combo. I think the 83-85's had cables. The 85.5's and newer have an Bosch electronic/vacumn type of setup with selinoids. My guess is there is a rod connected to a selinoid that opens a door for the heat to your feet. Most of those things are on the drivers side above the gas pedal under the dash and in front of the console. Maybe someone else can help a little more. I had situation where the heat would not stop and it was a clip broke under there that holds a rod in place. Hope this helps a little. gook luck.
