My 951 shakes violently!
Ever since I bought my car back in January it has been shaking like crazy. Mainly it's at idle. The steering wheel is the worst, followed by the seats and the mirrors. The car feels like a giant vibrating back massager (which is normally nice) but not while you are trying to drive. When I raise the RPM's the shaking (for the most part) goes away...unless I’m accelerating hard, then it's the driveline somewhere else vibrating, but that’s not the problem I’m trying to solve right now. I took it to the shop, the timing was off a few degrees and the balance shafts and belts were replaced and the motor mounts were checked. So all that's in order. I just can't figure it out. Any suggestions?

either your motor mounts are shot, or your balance shafts were out of alignment when the belts were replaced.

Mine is pretty much the same. It gets worse when it warms up. It could be a number of things. Idle control valve, vaccum leaks after the air flow meter, dirty injectors just to name a few.
I'm still looking to solve my shakes and vibes at idle. I have done loads, including motor mounts, injectors cleaned, belts and pump, exhaust leaks. Still no success.

My money is on the balance shafts.
If at idle shakes like h*ll and the higher the rpm the less shake it is the B-Shafts. Get it looked at quick. Don't need to kill kittens. ![]()

Id have another look at the balance shafts like AF mentioned, Was this a reputable shop you took it to? Also there is a tendancy for some people to put the balance shafts at 180 off.
You said idle but what happens when the car is moving down the road?
