Wipers Won't Work, Not Return to Park Position

Hey guys third thread here. Was able to discover that my relay for my fuel pump was causing my fuel pump problems.

While I was under the dash I must have knocked the wiper control arm and they moved to about halfway up the windshield and won't return.

The wiper relay housing came off as the plastic broke at the clips holding it to the relay. I don't have a voltmeter to test the relay, but it could be bad.

Thing was it came on when the wipers moved halfway up, so I am wondering what the issue is.

I want to return them to the park position so I can at least drive while I wait for a new relay. Anybody know to get them down without breaking the motor or anything else?

Considering if that relay is original, it may be the source of your problem. I had the same issue until a new replacement was installed.

I'm wondering if there might be a way to jumper the relay contacts to allow your wipers to park. Would not want to do this willy-nilly, but someone here might know something about this - or maybe try Steve at 944online, or the guy (cannot remember his name) at Paragon. Maybe Mike Lindsey at Lindsey Racing...who has helped me over the phone on a few occasions.

The wipers on my earlier car...an 85.5...did not work at first, and when I replaced the relay I could hear the motor struggling, so I quickly switched it off and proceeded to rebuild the motor itself (the grease within had basically solidified) - after which all was well.
