85.5 hard ride
Question : 85.5 944 shocks, is this correct. Front shocks are hyd and rear are gas, my 944 seems very tight in the front, allmost to the point where one person can bearly move the the front down by pushing on one side. As the back seem to move a lot easyer.
both set of shock are not that old, but it really is very hard in the front. I have checked to see if they are bent, binding or if they are on the stops. When driving they are that hard that it seems like they are on the stop rubbers. What sort of movement have you guys got in the front. Last edited by tasdevil; 05-10-2003 at 03:13 AM.. |

I can move mine down a few inches in the front then it comes back up with no bounce. They arent as tight as you are saying though. The ones on the back are a little more loose and have a little bounce but still good.

Just went out to feel mine
With about the same force, pushing on the top of the fender, I can get the front to compress about 1/2 inch, and the rear to compress around 1 inch.

thanks guys, i think its time to pull the conies and soften the ride abit.
car had been sitting for two years before i got it, i think they might be binding. I was quoted $490 for the front and back in monro sports. Thanks for checking. Regards Roger

The 944 is a pretty stiff car - almost to the point of being a bit harsh.
In all honesty, you are probably due - the stock Sachs\Boge provide a good balance between handling and comfort pretty inexpensive too AFJuvat
