Unhappy Ok, this one sounds expensive... NO oil pressure

Oh man oh man...
I just decided to get off my butt and go for a drive.
I started car. Heh. NO oil pressure... at all.
Cut off car. Start car again. Heh. NO oil pressure.
Now, the car ran fine 2 days ago, sat yesterday, and now has no oil pressure. The strange part is, it doesn't sound like no oil pressure. However, I bumped the throttle to hear, and it sounded like a metallic growl. What was this? Oil pump?
Its gonna cost a bunch, isn't it?

Exclamation DUDE!

Check your oil level (DUH). If it's OK pull one of those 6mm plugs out of the cam carrier. Now pull the fuel pump fuse and coil wire to make sure the car doesn't fire. Have an accomplice crank the engine as you look at the cam with a flashlight. You should be able to see oil being pumped around the tappets. The best thing is to run an oil pressure test with a guage but most people don't have the equipment just laying around. If any noise persists during cranking----STOP as you could have a bad oil pump---which is quite unusual. Does your oil filter look like it's going to explode? The filter itself can't be completely clogged as the direct oil pressure would squirt right past the seal. If you get no oil up top, pull the filter and crank away. You should get a LOT of oil out of the passage-----messy but effective. Good Luck. PS I've seen cheapie oil filters cause wierd problems too. Factory only.
