dont forget that non-OE brake pads are not always the same as the OE parts.

I know a person who bought some pads (which were a lot cheaper) and had loads of problems wityh brake squeel, only to find that the new pads did not have the bonded on anti-squeel shims.

just beware, cheap is not always best and all OE /OPC parts come g'teed and are correct for your model.

IMHO

Mine are holding up great. BTW you can and will have brake squeel on any incorrectly installed brake pads. I have always had been able to get rid of squeel reguardless of the pad compound.

Always lube and clean all contact points, score the rotors and the pads of necessary, and install any missing damper shims or plates.

My setup does not squeel at all, no matter the type of pads.

I have also used a set of Mintex on my 951 (use on track), and I found them just slightly better than the original in terms of power and wear.

I used blue Pagids before and they were far better (power) but wore much faster.

Eduardo-I chatted to you in an earlier thread about possible use of Volkswagen pads so I take it they were either not suitable or Mintex was not that much more expensive.I would guess the E-351-951-02M front and E-352-951-02M code would be an international description. Is Mintex supplied by specialist part dealers or widely available?

Paul:

hi,

Like you, I always have problems to find parts (in my country)for my Porsche cars, that was the main reason to try to find replacement parts.
I do not research about a replacement for the 944 brake pads yet, in this moment I need to buy several parts and I found that pelican gave a great support and assistance with my International orders (Tom Gould).
Then I will take this oportunity to buy the pads for the 944.

I supose that mintex is and aftermarket brand.

I'm 100% secure that if I take out 1 pad and I will go to a brakes store I will find a replacement.
But a lot of aftermarkets brands will have pads for the 944

I don't know if exist vw pads that will work like a replacement for the 944, maybe or maybe bmw, mercedes.
I only told you that I found in the vw rabbit pads a replacement for my 911 m calipers.

Search, I'm sure that you will found a replacement

good luck and regards
