strangley enough, the makers of my humble toolset from craftsman did not include the really big socket i need to remove a broken steering wheel (the ruber broke off). my car is an 83, and the car im pulling the good wheel from is an 85.5 n/a, does anyone know what sizes these steering wheel nuts are so i can go buy them from my local Sears... and if anyone knows if they are compatable... cause i have no clue... and it would really stink to go though the trouble and the wheel dosnt fit anyway.....
ps if you look at your doorjam nearest to the firewall, the bracket that holds the doorcatch has this funky torx bit like socket... if anyone knows what kind of tool and what size to buy i would really appreciate it... cause money has run short restoring this car, and i cant afford to make a mistake |

I use a 15/16 socket to remove my stering wheel nut.
Door catch is a 6 mm 12 point nut. I found a set of 12 point drivers at Auto Zone $5-$10 IIRC. THis is from my 81 924 your 944 may varry.
