944s engine block

Hello,
I was wondering if someone could help clarify which engine blocks would work with my 1987 944s 16v / 44.40 head. Thanks for your time.
Steven

Any 1983-1988 2.5 block will work for your application with no special machining needed the only thing you would have to do is install your head studs in the block of it was a 8V block originally as there shorter. The preferred block to use would be a 1987 and up block as they had the facility for the spring loaded timing belt tensioner that would
Make belt changes easier.

if your after a 16v engine or short block i have a few available... as shawn said you can use in theory any 8v block but youll need to swap pistons and such and at same time if your trying to clean and seat new rings... who knows how thatll go.,
