Hope everybody had a fun and safe fourth.
I have a question about installing power locks and a power sun roof in a vehicle that did not have them. I purchased a L&R door that has the power lock assemblies. My question is do these cars come wired for this option? I am wondering what it would take to make this functional in my car. Has any one installed a power sun roof in a vehicle that was not originaly equiped with one? Thanks.

The power door locks should work. When I got my alarm installed, they offered to put in power locks for an extra $100.

I was thinking they would also. I was just wondering if the main wire harness would have the door lock wiring. I will probably have to take a look when I swap interiors. I'm also going to look at the wire diagrams here to see what is needed. Thanks.

My question would be, did the early 944's ever have a power doorlock option?
Usually you'll have 3 different options on German cars for power doorlocks. You'll have a relay setup, which the late 944's ran. You'll have a 5 wire switch setup(in which the switch itself routes the power, ground, and polarity for the locks). Or you can have a vacuum setup utilizes an airpump and vacuum lines to control the motors(common in Mercedes). If the early 944 used a setup like the late models, then chances are it could be prewired, but it won't have the relay packs to trigger the motors. Making your own central locking system wouldn't be tough though. All you'd need is a pair of actuators($20ea. from a Car Audio shop), a pair of Bosch SPDT 30amp relays, and a door lock switch or two. If you have to go to this extreme, I can tell you how to wire it all up, depending on how the factory motors work, you could possibly even use those(as long as they are a 2 wire motor).
