i always do the easy stuff first.
fuel filter is cheap, make sure all the wires are getting spark, look at the air filter, see if you can feel any exhaust coming out of the tail pipe

If you're still trying to track this down, it sounds like what happened after I washed my motor. Check the following for moisture/water:
1. Distributor cap and rotor
2. Plug wires
3. AFM connector
4. TPS connector
5. TDC/Speed sensor connectors

Some Wire Drier and dielectric grease will help the connectors, but if there's moisture in the distributor cap it will take time to dry out, especially if there's no dust cover.

I dont really think that it has to do with the water any more... I let it sit for about a day and a half, and it was still doing the same thing. I am going to have to get it towed home and mess with it at my house. I will hopefully be able to figure it out then

Well... got it towed home... now, 5 days later it works fine... no trouble at all... I am really lost as to what happend.

[edit]
There is one part that is confusing me. My car would not even start without the DME relay jumped. It would just jump up to about 800 RPM and act like it was going to start, then just die. But when I had the DME relay jumped, it would start and run rough for about 30 sec. then just get worse.

Now its running fine and I dont even have the DME relay jumped. Is the relay bad? Or was my jumping it causing something weird to happen?

When i replaced my fuel rail, i left the fuel damper and afm on from the used replacement rail on. I had the same exact problem., but not as severe.Try a new afm (back of the fuel rail)- 2 bolts and a little fuel spill and is should be fixed.. make sure you dont spill any fuel near the distributor, vapors will ignite around a source of spark.

..or had you gotten fuel recently? I got a tank full of bad gas in Missouri and had to chug, spit and pop for 2 hours. until I got some additive and new premium at another gas station.

Good Luck!

chris, you are so lucky!!!! you got the last tank of bad gas we had in the state!!! never buy gas at a station at the bottom of a hill. thats where we send the rain runoff.
