Question Wiper switch or wiper relay?

Just got my first 944, and have my first minor problem.

The wipers seem to have a life of their own. Most annoying is that they generally wont stop even after turning them off. And if they do stop they dont stop in the right place.

I've owned many cars but never had to troubleshoot this problem, before I start whats the most likely cause? the switch, the relay or something else?

thanks.

I have the same problem... temp fix I removed the relay, only get high and low speed, no intermitent and wipers don't go home. I just keep bumping the switch untill I catch them in the down position. Fortunate for me I am in S. Cal where I don't need them much.

Hopefully someone can enlighten us.

I will be doing my switch in the next few days. My wipers will not turn off, sound like a similar problem. I will let you know what happens.

Sounds like its NOT the column switch, its the position switch which is inside the motor. You could either strip the motor down and try to fix the switch or just get another from a scrapyard.
