how do you flush your s2 rad ?

well what I thought would have been a 20 minute job turned into 4 hours toiling in the sun !

so, day started out at 10am,

got car out, jacked it up, then spent ages trying to remove the black spalsh sheild under the spoiler, of course 4 nuts were rusted in so it was then getting all my tools out, and trying to drill them out, no joy

then discovered I could get to the lower hose by removing the sump guard, DUH !

Found the drian plug as well, so undid and a small trickle of water came out maybe about a litre (thats not right ?) so then pulled the bottom hose out, and no water came out , hmmmm.

water tank, was still half full ??? so then poured in some water nothing came out.

oopps forgot breakfast and insulin brought my sugar right down so threw some sugar down my throat and ordedrd Pizza !

over came Makis, heads scratched, why was no water coming out. Pizza boy came and we ate agin

so turned the engine over, water came flooding out.

so it was a mater of running engine and sticking a hose in the expansion tank after that.

re-filled

so should I have got the car up to operating tmepreature, "Then" drained the water ie thermostat opened ? of course pouring cold water into a hot engine is a no-no !

what have you guys done ?

cheers

Ade (I aint no 10 minute wonder)
