A few misc. questions.
_ I am noticing that there is a significant lack of power between about 1 to 2.5K RPM, most noticably fot the first 750 RPM or so. Is this normal? I know that the car is not yet in its powerband there yet, but was just curious. Is there anything I can do to alleviate this.
_ Also I noticed that the spark plugs can be installed with or without the gaskets. Would it work better one way or the other? If the gap on the plugs is longer, will the spark be hotter and increase proformance? To make the gap longer would I need to get a bigger throw coil? I am interested in what little stuff I can do to make the car run better, and this is just another one of the things that has got me thinking. _ What cool little mods have you guys done to your cars to make them different and IYHO, better? I am also thinking about wireing the empty socket in the back into the brakelights, to make it stand out more. That kind of stuff. ![]()

The only thing I've done is put in a K&N drop in air filter. Just recently I did the Wolf Bumper Mod to my car. Though I tried to mix up a batch of paint myself to fill in the holes left in by the bumpers, but it didn't match up. I'm hoping the pebbles that hit the bumper will make it blend in. www.geocities.com/dvl999/page44.html

No spark plug comes with a gasket that I know of. If you mean the crush rings, they're supposed to be there.
I've said in the past that an aftermarket ignition system can increase performance, but I don't think that's a good place to spend your money either. If everything is within spec (and old stock wires usually will not be, nor the spark plugs, or the distributor, etc.), than there's no need to try to "improve" anything really. If you increase the spark gap, the spark will be longer, but won't be as "thick" (there's a technical term for you! ![]() Ahmet
