Helicoil on Waterpump stud
Ok, so I got the broken WP stud drilled out. Tapped and helicoiled the hole, put the new stud in, and it works great.
One Question.... This stud is the one that portrudes into the water sleeve. How water tight is a helicoil? Is there something I should put on the threads/hole to make sure it doesn't leak? Thanks! |

Next time I would recommend using a Time Sert which is a solid threaded sleeve as opposed to the wound wire helicoil. http://www.timesert.com/
