changing rocker cover gasket - xposted
hi all,
s2, got all the seals etc but a few questions 1> the torq screws what size are they ? 2> torq settings ? 3> there are 2 fuel pipes going across the cover, is there a trick to removing these, ie to minimise fuel loss, is it preassurised, do I need to stopper it ? 4> does the rocker cover gasket need to be sealed wet or dry ? cheers A

Hey Adrian,
1. Not sure - and FLAPS has a set of TORX bits - usually from T-10 - T-60 fairly inexpensively ($15 USD) 2. 25 NM 3. Depressurize be removing fuel pump fuse while engine is running - you can also loosen the nut on the end of the fuel rail to dump residual pressure 4. Dry AFJuvat

The gasket should have some sealer at each corner, look at the old one and you can see where the sealer should be.

hey guy's,
Brit, yep I saw that, and did it. AF, the fuse thing was "booomin!" cheers my main problem was undoing the fuel pipe nuts, had to kinda bodge it, but it all turned out ok, sprayed the rocker cover guards red to match the bodywork. the timing chain seemed ok as did the camshafts
