Post should i check the clutch since the tranny is already out?

my 1987 944na has 115K miles and got a new spring centered clutch at around 70K or 80K miles.

should I pull the torque tube and bell housing to check it.

the tranny is out for a rebuild.

how long does it take?
do i need any special tools other than the cheesehead sockets?

thanks
