88 turbo S for $11K
Sound like a good deal?
Silver rose, mileage in mid 80's I think, reasonably well kept. Of course, a couple of things could stand to be fixed. (That condition probably applies to most of our cars). Nit-picking aside, used but not abused. It's possible it had seen the track for DE's, as the previous owner was pretty active in his PCA chapter. Well, maybe not such a good deal. This was the amount the insurance company gave this guy to cover his car when it was stolen. Some of you may remember when I posted the details a few months ago. My understanding is he's less than happy, and I can't blame him. It will take a lot of shopping, and a little luck, to replace his car. Even then, I doubt he'll manage for what they gave him. I have the same insurance carrier, so his plight had my attention. Anyway, though you may find it of interest. I heard he's going to sell his boxster now, and is looking for another turbo S.

ah, sorry. you were asking if the settlement was a good deal. honestly, depending on the conditionof the car, an S should be able to fetch a bit more than that. problem is - two words - NADA and Kelly.
 did he try to renegotiate the settlement?

I had good luck with USAA when my car was wrecked.
11K sounds a little low - this is where documentations comes in handy - document all repairs - note that the car was the limited edition (silver rose with those ugly plaid seats) Depending on mileage and condition - should have been in the $12 - 17K range. Document, document, document.... AFJuvat
