Ok, Ive had it .. I am looking for the ultimate power upgrade. And I may need all the help I can gleen from this forum..Ive decided to drop an elephant into my car. Has anyone else done this? Is there anything I need to do to the suspension? How about fuel injectors and chips? Will I need new rims, tires?

Were you thinking about a 2.5L elephant, or a 3.0L? Does it run on peanuts? Can you add NOS to it at the same time?

Thanks for the e-mail's Gordon. I have a few things left from the 86 951 that will work on your 83. Front and rear sway bars, front springs, and a fuel pump. I have a throttle body, not sure if you can use it though.

Elephant eh? Meaning... a LARGE passanger? Or quite possibly a LARGE engine? You thinking about doing one of those LT1 Swaps? And for suspension, you're gonna have to add some heavier-duty springs in order to take the weight. And while on the topic of weight.... This swap will most likely destory the balance of this car. So before you do the swap or putting a large passenger in your car, make sure you spend some time and get all the information you can on this.

Simple answer, Pigmy elephant from Borneo Half the weight, twice the power.. Put the NOS in the trunk :-) of course.

Think I've found the ultimate upgrade : http://www.autospeed.com.au/cms/article.html?&A=0764&P=1 This only has a small gas turbine - but I'm sure you could get a military jet engine in the back of a 944. The gearbox is already there anyway. Think of the kick you could get with the afterburner engaged - and imagine the look on that ricers face as you hurtle off with a fireball coming out of the back of the car. This is the kind of effect you're looking for : http://www.jetwebb.com/dragon.html Mark
