Post 944 Transmission rebuild

Hello all!

Well, Its finally time to have my transmission rebuilt (after having to shift into second real slowly for a long time to prevent grinding). Where should I take it to have it done? Do normal car service places do this kind of job, or do I need to find a transmission shop or machine shop or what?

Any advice would be great!

Are you technical at all? I have the factory service guide for the tranny, and I did mine myself. I need a few new parts, syncro, boots, and a few bearings. Not an overly complicated transmission, in fact very simple. But to save some cash pull it yourself it's easy, then just drop it at a repitable tranny shop that offers a warranty.
