probably the flasher relay needs replacing. might be malfunctioning as it heats up. just a thought. check outside to make sure the same is happening with the turn signal indicators and that it's not just a problem in the instrument cluster.

the light stops flashing, it just looks like my lights are on and i don't have my blinkers on. also most of the time when i start my car, the tach is stuck at 0. i just tap at the cluster a couple of times before it goes up.

I would say to just try out a new flasher relay. They are pretty cheap (around 6 dollars).

Found the problem: "i just tap at the cluster a couple of times..."

Remove and clean-tighten the instrument connections.

Check and see what happens when you turn on the hazards. If all of the blinkers are running, the problem is most likely the relay. If they are not, check the bulbs and the sockets.
