Looks like quite a hand full.

Wish I had that engine for my 55 Chevy wagon back in the late 60's!

Could this car be as sweet as I think it is? Wow. Something tells me it would eat that transmission pretty fast. Also, assuming the durability of the transmission, is the only real issue the weight distribution difference? Couldn't this be solved by simply putting a CF hood/fenders on the front?

To have an engine like that, wow. If a 944 could handle like a 944 with a chevy v-8 in it. I am sort of turned on by the ba$tard.

Here you go!

http://www.renegadehybrids.com/944.htm

Just doesn't seem right to me, putting a Chevy motor in a Porsche. Isn't there a law or something?

that's pretty cool, but i'd rather have a 951 than that huge mofo, plus, the interior is hideous... i would like to have close to that power, w/o having to remove all eminities...

Speedy has been posting forever, I think that if he was going to loose his transmission it would have already happened.

actually trans was working fine but i had a pwII torson posi diff installed and since i was that far into it, had the trans rebuilt too. (it'd be silly to loose the trans after i went this far.) its a turbo trans and ive never heard of any v8 eating a trans, not to say it wouldnt happen. i drive hard and even do the local ax's, without any problems. just dont abuse it, thats the secret, no banging shifts or burnouts. and a bad cv is still a bad cv no matter what. those will be my next weak link anyways. the purist dont care for it and i can understand that, but im a hotrodder at heart and wanted more, affordably. (sure exceeded that figure by now.) that ebay car still has the stock na trans, poor choice for anything above 45 mph. wrong gears, kinda makes me wonder...
anyone interested in 2.5 hrs on willowsprings big track for only $125.00?
tshirt and lunch too. www.opentrackracing.com
this is the fun place to run.
keep up if you can!

i think speedy's LT1 looks way sexier than that carborated 350.
i see you have the stocl coolant resevoir in there, did you have to change anything about the cooling system?

new na radiator mounted upside down is marginal in hot weather or running at full speed. okay otherwise.
car gained 130 lbs, 48/52 bias.
corvette stock sorta. calif smog legal kills performance.
but still a nice improvement.
i cant keep up with zo6's.
but i know you do. ;-)

I think the Chevy V8 944 is a great car from a performance standpoint. From a Porschephile standpoint, it makes me sick I'm just joking, i really have no problem with it.

I think that car and Speedys both look cool. But, I'm not a chevy fan. Maybe I should put a Ford V8 in and really stir things up!!

any 944 with 300hp, or 450hp for that matter, goes down as "damn sexy" in my book.

Speedy, what did it take to hook up the transmission to the engine?

Asking if you should replace that timing belt is like asking if you should re-use a condom that may have in hole in it with a hooker.
