944 Turbo Package. Authority Air Mass sensor with chips. Fast spooling K 27 turbo. B&B cat back sport stainless exhaust system. 80HP+ and lots of torque over stock! Special package price $4295
Do you think thats worth the $5000? I have a stage 3 chip and NOS on my 88 Turbo S and I still would like to mess around with thoes 911 guy's minds by adding 80hp. I there a cheeper way to get more hp with what I have? |

Well...autothority MAF kits can now be had for $1400...k27 hybrid turbo can be had between $900 and $1200, B&B cat back exhaust is somewhere around $700 (but there are better and cheaper exhausts). Total that up: $3000-$3300. Who's selling that kit anyways? Seems like a bad deal.
I would do a turbonetics T04 or garrett ball bearing turbo because they are much better/newer designs and can be had in the same price range as the KKK turbo. MAF kit...autothority came down in price from one distributor recently to around $1400...forgot which one, but I saw it on the rennlist BBS a couple of days ago. There is the lindsey racing one which should have come out a couple of months ago that will have 2 versions, one at around $900 and another around $1200. Technodyne has a MAF based on the autothority design...forgot what it goes for though. Huntley has their array of MAF kits, but apparently their adjustable fuel controller leaves much to be desired as far as resolution goes. Exhausts...haven't looked much into this recently, but I just got a 3" cat back SS exhaust system from speedforce racing put on my car in the body shop (I had a wreck recently)...I haven't seen it yet, but it was relatively cheap ($450 for the insurance company) and looked good on the web site. I'll let you know what I think of it once I get my car back (friday hopefully). B&B usually sells for around $700, and is of good quality from what I have heard, but does not give much in terms of performance or a meaner noise. Lindsey racing sells an exhaust system, but its not for street cars...it goes from the turbo to behind the right front wheel with no muffler or cat. Huntley has an exhaust system too...it was $650 I think. Haven't heard anything about it. I think it was paragon products who had one exhaust system from the turbo back for $1200 and from the cat back for $800. I haven't heard anything about that one either. Hope this gives you an idea of some of the stuff that is out there. ------------------ ribs, 86' 951 |

Technodyne MAF - $1500, New T04E - $800 (after selling stock k26), GHL exhaust (used barely) - $450, also, you'll need injectors - $500 (you may be able to find this cheaper).
Total = $3250 Technodyne MAF - Authority, but improved T04E - full boost at 3000 rpm (4th gear), rated for max power of 400 - 425 hp (SCC wrote an article describing this exact compressor set-up and its benefits) Erick |
