Clutch
I believe I am in for replacing my clutch. My symptoms (a clack when the clutch engages, and if the clutch isn't really feathered accelerating or decelerating initally is abrupt) seem to indicate that the rubber center of my '86 NA's clutch is dying. Any reccomendations for web sites to review, or parts of the procedure which need special attention, or parts would be appreciated. Never have done a clutch, but I'll be attempting this one myself. I'm not starting this today, I'm sure you'll hear from me when I start the project.

For the money Pelican has the most complete kit around. It's very hassle free and it has the correct parts in it right down to the fork needle bearings.
Clarks garage has an excellent procedure, it carries you through every step. Oh, and yes your clutch is gone. The noise your hearing is the limp home metal catches hitting the stops.
