Talking look what Chevron Techron did to my engine!

no, it's not bad at all!

http://209.150.235.158:8585/techron

i yanked the intake valves out (i left them in during the P&P) today. the valves in the head have been in there since 1979. the only thing that has ever been done to these valves is that i took them out of the head and i placed them next to my sink (because the light there was white light, and the counter was clean (unlike my work bench). i DID NOT clean these valves even with a rag before i photographed them. all i did was yank them out, tag the springs and put them on a paper towel next to my kitchen sink.

i will take pics of the intake ports of the head later and post them too.

i dunno about everyone else here, but i am SOLD on Techron. the ONLY other stuff i've ever put in was Tradco fuel injector cleaner.

so, what does everyone think? i'm pretty sure you can trust this stuff. the valves look brand new (i was worried i'd have to replace them.

[no, i'm not employed by Chevron, i just thought that everyone would like to see that there is no "snake oil" in that product. if you like what it has done to my engine then use it. i only added a bottle every 3000 miles and as indicated before, i did not even clean the valves off with a rag after taking them out of the head]

enjoy!

They look amazing! I have a question for you though. In one of your pics, you have the bottle on the counter. It is Fuel Injector Cleaner with Techron made by Chevron. I have seen this in the store but I have always purchased the pure Techron that comes in the same-looking bottle. I have wondered if there is much of a difference. I think that they are roughly the same price.

Thumbs up

hmm, i used the stuff that looks like the bottle that was on the counter. i purchased that bottle so that people would know which stuff i used. i put that in the Scirocco 16V and then displayed the bottle next to the valves.

pure techron? the more expensive stuff? yeah, i buy that too but sometimes it's sold out so the only thing left are the $3 bottles of it like the one on the counter.

I was impressed by the way a bottle of Techron would help in the performance of my engine, but now that I see what it does on the inside, I am definately sold!

BTW: The first thing I did last week when I got my S2 home was put a bottle of Techron in the tank!
