Two questions concerning parts fitment on 87 951

1. Will the nose panel from an 86 n/a 944 fit my 87 951?

2. How can I tell which shift boot/shiftyer design I have? My boot is shredded and needs replacement but I'm not sure whether it is one or two-piece.

Yes the 86 nose will fit.

And you have the "one piece" boot on the 87.

No the n/a panel will not fit the 951, they're different.

on the classifieds Rich offered to buy the '86 n/a panel that was mentioned, I hope the deal didn't already go down.

For some reason I think I mentally blocked the adaptation of the NA nose to the 951. Usually the posts are the other way around, 951 to NA and such.

I remember thinking that he was trying to mate the 86 951 to the 87 951. That would work of course.

I was in a hurry earlier and couldn't write any more other than a heads up. I knew you had overlooked it, I had to reread it myself. I pretty sure you've been playing with the cars more than long enough to know. Once I looked over at the classifieds I was thinking, uh oh!

BTW: that is a good buy on a n/a panel if anyone is needing one, buy it just to keep as a spare, especially if you have a red car!
