This started recently, might be something to do with the wet weather but whenever I reverse and steer (as in out of a parking space) the car jumps just a little bit as it moves back. Feels like it is jumping about 1/2 an inch or so, not sure if its the front or the back, the whole car seems to take a step to whichever side i'm steering.
This only happens in reverse but i'm worried it could get worse. I had an audi once that did a similar thing and then the gearbox decided it didn't want to leave the motorway at the same time as the rest of the car! Driving around in the sunday car at the moment, a lotus which has no roof!!! (not recommended for a british autumn) Any ideas?

Its a very standard 944 S2 running gear.
How do I check the CV joints? - my expertise ends at changing brake pads in this car! Thx.

1.) Chock the front wheels
2.) raise and support the rear of the vehicle 3.) rotate wheel and listen for slight "clicking" sound 4.) rotate back and forth quickly if no "click" present #3 and see if the click now exists 5.) do same with other wheel 6.) while sitting facing wheel pull and push wheel and look for play any play will be the wheel bearings. 7.) Lower vehicle slowly until 1" off of floor. Insert tire iron under tire and pull iron up and listen for a "clunk" will determine if a problem exists with suspension (bushings etc..)
