Question about timing belt tools
Has anyone used this?
I want to replace my timing/balance belt, all rollers/seals, and the water pump. I know that there's a lot of controversy about the Kriket, but I'm mainly wondering about the other tool. Has anyone used that balance bolt/sprocket wrench? Does it do what it claims to do without making the job much tougher than if I had the other two tools? Are these the only special tools that I'll need (I have a basic wrench/socket set and I can buy other basic needed things from a local Sears)? Thanks, Swim

It should work.... but I used a 90 degree long handled needle nose set of pliers..... <10 bucks and it works just fine.

I just ordered Bruce Arnn's tool set and am very happy with the quality/price of his tools. This along with my krikit, and 2000 dollars worth of Porsche parts, I am ready to rebuild the head and r&r the rings in my poor smoking 924S.

Thanks for those kind words guys. Swim, you might consider a flywheel lock or some way to hold the crank enough to remove the crankshaft bolt (~ 160 ft/lbs).
And BTW, I played with polishing Fuchs too and came up with a quick way to do the rim portion (not the center portion) of the wheel. Check it out at my site (ArnnWorx.com).
