Question '83 944na .. NO start (udated w/ more info)

Gentleman,

OK ... aftewr investigating for a day here is where I am at. Coil seems OK as primary and secondary resistances are within spec. When looking at the fuses they all checked out OK except the radio / interior light one which was smoked. Odd b/c last time I drove car radio was OK. I swapped out to see if just fuse was bad ... ity didnt melt again however it was very hot so I guess there is a short somewhere there ... I dont know how this could effect the starting of the car but who knows.

On a hunch I pulled the wires going to the 3rd and 4th fuel injectors. I had the key ON and checked the voltage at each which were nominal. This freaked me out b/c there is no fuse for the injectors that could have gone bad. I'm at a lost here b/c I can't figure how such "major" stuff could go wrong with it just sitting a week. really need to get it running too as my gf's neighbor really needs a car (his got repo'ed) and I want to do him a favor and sell him my work car (90 tbird) and use my 944 as a driver. Looks like that ain't happen'n soon .. ugh!. Any thoughts?

thanx,
Mitch

Also, when trying to start the car I have been depressing the gas pedal and when i do there is a "click-click-click-ing" noise. I asume this it the fuel pump, no? After reading a while .. could it be the DME relay?

thanx
