I have a 86 944 n/a that is my project car. It has not been run for 3 years and I have been trying to get it running. Anyway, after I did a ton of work to it, the engine would run but it sounded like only 3 of the cylinders were firing. I asumed it was the injectors so I pulled them out and cleaned them by soaking them first in some STP fuel injector cleaner and next in some paint thinner. I put them back in today and the engine will not even cough, I am almost certain its the injectors because I opened the depresurizing valve for the fuel system and fuel squirted out, also the injectors are getting electricity, if anyone knows what is wrong or if I did something wrong or forgot to check something I would love some help, thanks.

Double check that all the electrical connectors are plugged in. I had a bit of a panic on the weekend after I worked on the car, it turned out that the AFM plug was not in.

Thanks for the tip, all the electrical connections are hooked up to the injectors, is that what you mean? What exactly is an afm plug?

dude I had the same problem with my car and i went through all the injector stuff and the diagnostics computer said it had pulse on all four cylinders but it turned out to be corroded wires that needed to be replaced that was part of the wiring harness that wraps around the bell housing.
