Cool OT- Gutting 4x4 cat

Well on my 944 i just cut the cat off and replaced it with a straight pipe. But I want to leave the cat in place on my toyota 4x4 (because with a 4 in. lift and 33 in tires, the cat in is plain view.) Is it true you can really just "ram" something in it and break it up?) Also theres a wire hooked right in front of the cat. Will doing this throw off my computer? Will it hurt anything by doing such?

Thanks, I know it's off topic, but its in the garage now with the muffler off and I need to drive it to work tomorrow so...
I knew you guys would help me out.

David

David, you should be able to smash the inside of the cat with anything, a 4x4, metal rods, ect as it is just a honeycomb mesh in side it. The wire is the O2 sensor and it will not be affected since it gets it's readings before the cat.
