Question 944 Newbie Needs Help.

Hello everyone,

I just got my first Porsche ('83 944)and I'm trying to figure out some minor problems I'm having.

1) Turn Signals won't flash.
2) Hand Brake light flickers on & off eventhough the lever is all the way to the floor.
3) Gauges are extremly dim.
4) Slight rattle coming from underneath car when going approx. 25-30 mph. Only happens sometimes.

Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks in advance.

Joe

Your dash is dim, cuase the bulbs are old, the optical elements are cloudy and the reflective silve paint around the bulbs is dull, take it out, clean it replace the bulbs. The rattle is either a loose heat shield or you have a loose or cracked exhaust pipe somehwere

Hey joemun,
My flasher relay went out on my car too. It's in with all the fuses in the large rectangular box under the hood (driver's side, near the base of the windshield). A decal on the inside of the fusebox cover will tell you which one is the flasher relay. Good luck!

Do the light bulbs light up and just not flash, if so, it could be a bad bulb. They will do that if one goes bad. Also, if the bulbs blink really fast, thats usually the same problem.

Hey Stray,

Come to think of it, the right front side marker is out because somehow it got all full of mud.
