Hey guys long time no talk to! Just moved to eastern TX a few weeks ago. Longview, TX exactly. Only a little over an hour from Dallas so Im interested in getting active with some TX clubs maybe the SCCA & PCA.
Question: 86 951 103,000 easy miles Problems that I have found: Head gasket seep at #1 w/o mixing or loss of power The last service I had indicated that I had an oil pan leak. Under hard braking I get an oil burnoff evident by a cloud of smoke nurning off the crossover/exhaust. What do you think and how hard is it to change the gasket? Thanks guys! Brock |

It is a considerable amount of work. Turbo cross feed pipe has to come off; you have to support engine from above; you might think about changing rod bearings while you are in there; and you might think about engine mounts while there as well. Here are some pix.

Here is one more pix for lower supports. Note how leakage of oil coated the turbo output pipe. The cross pipe was getting even more oil.
