Fender Bender... i guess

Hey guys, there is s a big spot on the front right fender where a dog bit the hell out of it. My stepdad sued and the guy didnt pay so we have a lien against his house. The thing is all... dog bitten, i was wondering if it would be a good idea to sand the area down and try to repaint it? Sound good?

You do store your meat in the freezer right? Or the dog might have caught a wiff of an improperly tensioned sock.

Do you have a pic of the damage?

House > Fender IMHO

Fender looks like you could just sand it all the way down to the metal, with like 40 grit, bondo it a little bit, then let a bodyshop repaint and blend it or do that yourself if you want to. its hard to tell the depth of the bite markds from that pic, but it doesn't look so bad in my opinon

Man.... Have that dog checked or move. I agree with Mac. Just sand it down, it's not so bad. What kind of dog was it?

Dog bites car. Gesh!

How much do you think those bites are worth?

Give you $500 for the lien on the house.

What put the dent in the hood?

thats not a dent... before it was just where the paint cracked. It just cracked really bad and fell off now. I have the piece of paint that goes back in there, fits like a puzzle. Should i glue it back in?

I really didnt know dogs could do that to metal.

I think you should give the guy whos going to fix the paint on the fender another 20 bucks to fix the hood.

i don't know if this works, but a friend of mine mentioned the idea to me.
i too have a hideous paint chip/ding in my hood (but that another story that makes me look like quite the retard)

anyway, my friend said, get some clear nail polish and use it underneath the paint, and the acetone in the nail polish will "melt" the paint, and hopefully re-bond it to the metal. i don't know if there is such thing as non-acetone nail polish, but i'd look to make sure.

i know acetone eats paint, but i don't know if it would "re-bond" it.

Better check your car for rabies after that dog bite.
If it has an imporperly tensioned sock, rabies might do it in.

p.s. jesus christ, did you have to sue the guy? why not talk to the guy, or try making an insurance claim. home owners (his) might cover it? frivolous/stupid lawsuits get on my nerves. only as a last resort would i resort to such a thing. although that may have been your last resort, but whatever.

seems like everyone now-a-days sues their damn neighbor...

EDIT: also, what is all of this about socks? and tensioning socks? is socks slang for belts?

i know there is acetone and non-acetone nail polish remover, but i don't know for a fact that nail polish (specifically, clear) has acetone. nail polish (if it contains acetone) seems like the better solution than remover, because it is not nearly as watery as remover and you don't run as much risk of dripping/running on to good paint.
