intermittant heat

Hi guys,

my 87 944 seems to put out intermitant heat. When I stop at a trafic light, and the engine idles, it starts blowing cold air. If I rev the engine, warm air keeps coming out of the heater. I alsmost froze my dad to death the other day when I left him in the car for a few inutes when I went into a store. My guess is that there is probably air in the cooling system so I'm seeing a large bubble pooling in the heater core if I leave it idle... - thoughts?

Additionally, there are 2 9 pin? connectors didconnected under my steering column - the cruise doesn't work and the heater blower only blows on defrost or full tilt boogie. The heater problem doesn't seem to be the relay and admitedly, I haven't pulled the heater cover off yet to check connections etc on the blower. Could there 9 pin? connectors under the dash be related to either of these problems?

The flaps in the air box are vacuum operated. You may have a loose or cracked vacuum line coming into the car.

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?

Also check your themostat, coolant level, and maybe bleed the system. There is a bleeder valve screw on top of the motor.

Fix the plastic lever/piviot just above the gas pedal.

you guys rock. I just had this question last night, but was going to wait until my name fell off the front page of questions asked until I asked it. Being a newbie still, I don't ike seeing a dozen of my own questions.
