Hey guys:
I have posted before relating my problems with my electric sunroof. Today I was once again tearing the guts out of it when I found a small tool attached to the motor drive cable assembly. It has a hex spanner on one end and a funny shaped screw driver looking thing on the other end. The whole tool is about 5 inches long,3/8 of an inch wide. If anyone has a set of manuels and can look this tool up I would appriciate the help. I think I found the problem. The Plastic box that holds the cable end tight to the motor has a small piece broken off alowing a small amount of play. This let the gear slip on the splines of the drive cable. I am going to epoxy the small broken piece back rather then pay a few hundred bucks to replace the whole assembly. Any help out there???????? |

clean it very very good, maybe some mek or at least acetone?
do a test spot first to see if the epoxy adheres, you might need to try a couple different glues, i might try JB weld first, ive had good luck there. GOD BLESS AMERICA! |

I have it back together and it works o.k., I just need to adjust the micro switchs. I still have no idea what hat little tool is for. I wish I had an owners manuel that might point this out. 1984 944 n/a.

Fireboss, i think that is the tool to manually lower, and raise the sunroof when something fails.
