Post Gear/clutch problem 44 s2

HI guy's

All the gears were extremley difficult to engage, no crunching or noises, just the gear shift "very" notchy. and at some times literally had to ram the gear stick home.

No jumping out of gears no lurching.

Also Idle seemed a little bit twitchy

When I got home, I parked up and tried the gear lever with engine off, clutch in, all seemed ok.

now,
(my continuing problem) with the heatshield over the CAT having disappeared, though all other heat sheilds are still in place. And I got some heatsheild materail Which I slapped inbetween the cat and the bodywork.

Could this be causing a problem with grease drying out in the linkage in the gaebox tunnel

I suspect it might also simply be the clutch pedal needing checking.

Any ideas on how I can check or prove what's happening.

Cheers

Well, I would definately get the heat shield replaced. Grease may be drying out from the heat (I would certainly check it)

However, it almost sounds like (Those who think differently feel free to chime in) your clutch plate is in its death throes. that or your synchro's are going.

my £2

I'll check the heat shield.

BUT the clutch (and that's what I'm assuming)
has gone today.

Cant get any gear. no cruching just won;t go into gear.
Burning smell from under bonnet, all fluids ok

Any further ideas xcepting for needing a new clutch

cheers
