Thumbs up

My traditional winter beater (a 1990 Chrysler Town & Country minivan) has a developed a number of problems so the 944S has been pressed into full-time service. It looks like it went thru the Paris-Dakar rally being covered in salt/dirt/snow, but has held up great. I'm just counting down the days 'til spring..............

Drive my 944. Got a set of winter rims/tires for it though. Even though they are the cheap-o canadian tire winter tires, they still hold 1000x better than my pirelli's!

Useta drive an 85 subaru GL wagon, even without 4wd, it beats the hell outta all those SUV's =)

It's only been icy a few times this winter, so i've been driving the 944. If it gets real bad, I can carpool with my dad, who works for the same radio station. With most of the extreme cold out east, it's been gettin' up to 55-60 in the afternoons here

I drive the 911C4 these days - the "4" is for AWD. Rain, snow, ice, hail, earthquakes, tidal waves, minefields, nuclear fallout...it's all good in my 911C4. You might say it is the "porsche" of all wheel drive sportscars. Heck, I don't even bother shovelling my driveway anymore. The C4 just climbs right over the snow. The 944 (with the superior A/C system) is more of a summer car. Heaven forbid I should have to spend an entire season without the Porsche Driving Experience !!

nice that u have a nice ride for any season.......hope u don't think the c4 with it's awd is invincible.....cause some ppl on the audi boards every now and then think the quattro makes them invincible in the wet/icy/snowy roads.....even if they have to proper tires......and then the next time we hear from them is a post about their accidents......

NYC, actually it does handly very well with the snow/ice tires. I leave SUV's and newer cars behind all the time, I have yet to get stuck *fingers crossed*.
Although, the tires are not perfect, which means I still get to do crazy donuts and stuff in empty parking lots, just watch out for other cars and parking blocks. Rear wheel drive is fun.

yeah ....snow tires make a big difference.....had performance tires on before and i felt like i was skating on ice even with my quattro
don't want any snow showers but if we do get them i think i'll have to look for an empty lot too....
