Hatch squeaking

There's this one road I have to drive on to get to a certian place...I drive on that road a couple times a week. Unfortunately a good chunk of that road is waiting to be paved. Meaning that it was paved, but that it's all cut up now. So now my hatch is squeaking (I believe it's the hatch).

Any suggested solutions aside from a new hatch?

Thanks!

Based on my searches of my personal archives of the Rennlist (Rennlist down for now), I got the picture that the hatch needed to be reglued. Is this correct?

You are correct. A while back I bought a kit on eBay that fixes this rattle for under $20.00. These should be available still through eBay.

Before you go and reglue anything, play with the plungers that lock down the hatch. Mine used to squeak, so I loosened the washers at the base of the plungers and unscrewed them a bit to lenghthen them by about 1/8".

The hatch clicks down tighter now and the squeak is gone!
