Post barely beat a tricked up Accord coupe V6

ok who out there has raced them Accord V6 coupes? Those suckers are fast...i mean stock they can't keep up with our 4-banger Zuffenhaus machines but when fixed up they kinda scare the ***** outta me....

here's the story:

Northbound 125 connecter going to school an accord v6 coupe passes by me at around 90
i accelerate to 100 and pass him up then i hear him drop the lil rice down a gear....BWWWWAAAAAAAAPADADADADAPBADADAADDA (9 steps too cook Uncle Ben's Rice ) and he starts gaining. The needle hits 115..still pullin forward and my 2 car lengths lead drops to 1. at 125 his fender is at my passenger door...at 130 i brake ahead and his fender is at my quarter...then he backs off....when we get to the stop light he smiles, shakes his head, and when the light turns green he cuts in front of me...did he lose? oh yes

Having owned a Honda Accord V-6, I find that hard to believe. What year was it, coupe? EX? And what do you mean by 'tricked out'?

Actually, I'm thinking about that one again...

After the first mod on that car (225/55/16 Bridgestone Potenza RE-730), it could seriously humiliate a 944 NA. After pads, fluid, lines, shocks, springs etc. (involved yes, but nothing too serious) it would play with one on track too I'm sure. Only in an auto-x type of situation could you beat an accord, but even then I have my doubts.

I've had that car up to 125+mph + too, remember the stories with a mercury couger flipping, both drivers ending up hospitalized? That was in my accord, I seriously doubt what you say is true, that car will actually pull at 120+... This hurts your credibility IMO, remember the beating 911 SC post?

Ahmet who knows what could of happened if he kept on the throttle. He might have beat me...but probably backed off or wasn't a good driver....do you recall your lil quote? "its all the driver" I believe that is significant too. You are forgetting my car is tuned too. this guy put up a fight and i am willing to bet if he kept on the throttle i would have been beat. I have never raced a modded Accord V6 coupe before and I was impressed by the power output on this car.

AND F*CK YOUR STUPID CREDIBILITY. It seems that everytime i make a post you are one of the first people to talk crap about it. Here you are calling me stupid...i'm not the one blowing out transmissions left and right because of a habit to do donuts and spin tires on these cars. So if you got something to say, be sure and think about all the stupid ***** you have done before you say something like this. if not keep your mouth shut and let it be. This isn't a board to get into arguments with people.

With all due respect, Shaun, if the guy in the Accord was a "good" driver," he wouldn't be racing another car at what you claim to be 130 mph.
And yep, the V-6 Accords are reasonably quick...200 bhp.

Be safe and remember the old saying: "There are old drivers and there are bold drivers, but there are few old, bold drivers."

stock the v6 accord coupe will be around 7.6-7.8 sec 0-60, almost a half second quicker than an n/a 944. so if you out-accelerated him/her, the logical conclusion is he/she was either not the swiftest driver or wasn't going all-out. it's all power to weight ratio, which the v6 accord has better figures than the n/a. a 4-cyl accord would be a different story.

Well euro, I've been through stupid 'shet' (thanks shaun for the plug), and am trying to keep you from doing it, and others from BS on the board, this post isn't even funny it serves no purpose, besides wasting space...

F*ck my opinion of your credibility? Sure, if you don't care ofcourse that's not of much concern to me.

By the way, blowing transaxles in empty parking lots, and racing somebody on a public highway are very different things, specially on a highway where there's a stoplight...

And for the specific argument, I don't really care how much your car's modded (though you seem overly optimistic), I'm just about positive a Honda Accord V-6 can beat your car, a stock one at that. And you're saying this car wasn't stock... I asked you how you thought it was modded, what year it was, and if it was a coupe, didn't get a response to that If he kept on it, maybe he would've beaten you? My guess is that he'd beat you easily at lower speeds too, my accord kicks you in the seat not too different than a 951 in 2nd...

Blackfoot, I've done around 6.9 secs to 60 in the accord when it was largely stock (sticky/wider tires, cold weather, but 6.9 is in a different level than 7.5+ regardless), and believe me, it's a far cry faster than a stock, or lightly modded 944. By 'tricked out', you can almost be certain it had AT LEAST mufflers, and probably a cat back too, and believe me here, with 2 mufflers, other resonators, and cats to get rid of, the thing is capable of some significant amount of extra power, if it's really 'tricked out'.

Talking about 130mph, the accord is MUCH slippier, and has a relatively peaky torque curve, which's hitting hard at around those speeds (specially if it has any exaust work done), keep that in mind too...
Ahmet

Whoa, wait a minute...

You guys are a large part of the reason Porsche drivers get stopped just because we're driving Porsches. Grow up. Take your speed urge to the track and keep it in your pants while on the road. Your "conversations" sound like an unfortunate consequence of the low price range for 944's. Slow down and do the rest of us a big favor.

Blackfoot I actually got the jump on him on the freeway and pissed him up. It looked like after he passed me he held his speed at 90, then punched it when he saw me go by. I wouldn't be surprised if he would beat me.

And why would my speedometer be inaccurate now? I had it checked. It reads pretty accurate. 2-3 mph less on an occasion at around 75 and 90. It was fixed after the 10 mph in accuracy.

When has any one said they brought up beating 5.0's? I remember people saying that at Excite and they got trashed, but I don't remember that here. Show me the threads so I can dog them too.
