Post car is running, but why????

First of all, I wanted to thank everybody who responded to my questions about my "no start" problem. I really appreciated the feedback and experience you guys have!

The good news is that the car starts and runs again. Bad (well, sorta) news is that I can't tell you exactly why. I think somewhere along the way someone mentioned checking connectors and I think that was the problem but I can't prove it. I took every connection apart, including the DME itself and sprayed it with CRC QD Electronic Cleaner that I got at NAPA. If it came apart I took it apart and either cleaned or sprayed the best I could. Got her all back together and ka-ching! It wasn't a problem with relays or fuses. Fuel system was OK. I'm just positive it boiled down to electrical connections. Anyway, that solves this problem, but, what next????????

Thanks for the tip. I didn't do what you're suggesting but I can see the value of it now that you're pointing it out. Will pick up a tube. This will give me a good project this winter when I don't drive the car. In the meantime, I still want to get some road under me before the weather shuts me down.

Did you take the computer out of its case and spray the actual circut board or just the plugin connecter to the computer?

Glad you're on the road again.

By the way, you're probably not the senior
driver here on the board...I've got you by
4 years; I think there's someone in their 60s
& isn't it fun to 'listen'' to the chatter
here? Even learn a bit from the 'kids'.

Well, go put some miles under your treads...
enjoy the Fall driving, while you can.

Hey T86951 -- I just sprayed the connector for the computer. I did take it out, and separated the sandwich to look for obvious signs of something fried or some soldering gone bad but nothing. I was afraid to do much in there but one member had written about "jiggling" the connectors. I'm not sure I'd spray inside the computer board itself--might be an expensive experiment.

Macreel--good to hear there are more "old guys" out there. We may not be as fast as we used to be but we can enjoy it just as much.
